Among this tangle of legs are two spiders – a predator and it’s prey. Spiders catch and consume many types of insects, but they’ll also happily indulge in a spot of cannibalism and dine on other spiders.
The spider in the top half of the photo has been tightly bound with silk, with his legs all bunched together and wrapped over his face. If you look closely, you can see his eye. The lower of the two spiders is about to sink it’s venomous fangs into the flesh of the other one.
Both spiders are of the same type and approximate size of yesterday’s shot. Given that these spiders are only tiny, their webs are no bigger than small saucers, but they seem to do quite nicely with whatever they capture.
