The anthers of the amaryllis are covered in tiny pollen sacs, which release pollen onto visiting insects brushing against them. Subsequently the insect will deposit the collected pollen onto the stigma of another amaryllis.
The anthers are anchored to the flower by long white filaments, which in this shot have tiny specs of ‘spilt’ pollen on them.
