365 Day Photography Project Day 575: Lily The Pink [Princess]

A delicately veined baby pink petal of a Princess lily (Alstroemeria), with just a few drips of rain. The Princes lily is also referred to as the Parrot lily, Peruvian lily, Parrot flower or sometimes Lily of the Incas.

The Princess Lily was created from genetically altered varieties of Alstroemeria, initially discovered in South America. Dependent upon climate and location, these pretty pinks may well flower from May right through to to October, even after mild frosts set in.
