Nuts! Hmm, an appropriate image for today!
A few weeks ago, I decided to upgrade my Sky Tv package to include a phone line and broadband, I’ll not only save a few quid, but if I have any problems, they’re all going to be dealt with by one company, so there’ll be no-one else to pass the buck to.
Everything’s been smooth so far; TalkTalk have been in touch to advise me about finalizing my account etc, and Sky have kept me updated on the progress of my order, sent out a new router and confirmed my activation date for today.
However, this morning I wandered into the office with a mug-full of coffee, ready to start the day with a few emails, to find I had no phone line or internet connection. Grrr… TalkTalk had evidently cut off my service in the middle of the night and Sky hadn’t yet thrown the switch to activate my new line.
I guess this is the usual sequence of events when changing ISP, I’m only guessing as I don’t do it very often, but it got me thinking – would it really be so difficult for two companies to streamline the switching of services – like, universally end connections at a set time and activate new connections within an hour or so..? I guess that’s too much to hope for.
I’m not used to being offline all day, it’s been kind of tough and driven me nuts; you know what I mean! Still, at least I’m back online now – even if the phone line isn’t working properly…
Ok, end of rant, enjoy the nuts ;0)
