365 Day Photo Project Day 629: [Princess] Lily Abstraction

A Pink Princess Lily (Alstroemeria), also known as the Parrot lily, Peruvian lily, Parrot flower or the Lily of the Incas.

The image was created by initially capturing the lily from a less than typical perspective, with a shallow depth of field, focusing on the near-side edge of the closest petal.

Post production, a glow filter was added to illuminate the flower and to additionally accommodate a slight reduction in exposure to darken the background. Finally, a soft focus filter was applied with minimal intensity, to aspects of the image, with the exception of the focal petal.

The resulting image is a fairly abstract one, focusing sharply on the edge of a single petal, whilst assorted shades of pink and speckled yellows fill the frame against a virtually black background.
