As temperatures continue to drop, I spotted this seven spot ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata) – or ladybug if you prefer – nestling in a curled up, lifeless leaf, beneath an icy blue sky.

Fooled by recent warmer weather, this bug seems to have been caught out and attempted to find someplace snug and dry to get back to sleep, until more temperate conditions return.
